An icon cover from the 19th century was found in Saint Andrew’s Church during repair and restoration work, the National Conservation Area Sofia of Kyiv wrote on Facebook.

Workers who cleared the attic said that the cover was lying in the middle of some “construction rubbish.”

The cover depicts Mary with a child.

“Judging by the small size, it was a house icon,” the National Conservation Area Sofia of Kyiv said.
