Estonian Investors Open Startup Hub in Kyiv
The average number of developers in Ukraine is more than double that of the United Kingdom - Startup Entrepreneur Roger Sass
Estonian investors opened up a new hub for startups in Kyiv.
The opening of the startup hub is the second location for Lift99 – with the first located in Tallinn.
Lift 99 focuses on offering a paid workspace and membership to startups and IT developers.
Startup entrepreneur Roger Sass said that Estonians investors saw an opportunity in the Ukrainian startup market.
“I have visited Ukraine countless times since 2011. And here I met the most talented and hardworking start-up startups,” Sass said.
The average number of developers in Ukraine is more than double that of the United Kingdom, and they make up some 4 percent of Ukraine’s population of 40 million, Sass said at the opening of the startup hub.
“There are a lot of talented engineers in Ukraine – the whole history of the development of this industry and innovations. We want you to achieve even greater success in this field,” Sass said.
Today, Estonia has the highest ratio of startups per capita in the world. The Estonian government helps the development: it creates a legislative basis for the development of the startup ecosystem and even co-finances some projects.
