70% of Ukrainians Favour Entry to NATO
Western Ukraine shows the highest number of NATO supporters
The results of a sociological survey indicate that 70% of Ukrainians who would come to a referendum would vote in favor of Ukraine’s entry to NATO, stated Iryna Bekeshkina, director of the “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation, reports Ukrinform.
If the referendum on the coresponding issue would take place now, then 69% of the residents would go voting.
70% would vote positively. 28% of respondents oppose NATO membership, and the rest are undecided.
Western Ukraine shows the highest number of NATO supporters. 92% of respondents of Western Ukraine stand in favor of NATO. 82% of residents of central part of the state are positively tuned. 60% of NATO optimists live in the south regions. In the eastern regions only 25% of respondents support NATO.
