On Sunday, Boryspil International Airport set an absolute record for the number of passengers it served in a day.
The airport served 52,000 passengers and oversaw 352 flights, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“We are very pleased that summer navigation has just begun, and we already have an absolute record. The growth of passenger traffic is an undoubted result of a properly chosen airport development strategy but at the same time a challenge for its further infrastructure development. In this regard, we again hope that the rule on the removal of 90 percent of dividends in favor of the state will be revised. Without having funds for development, we will not just stand still, but quickly roll back,” Boryspil CEO Pavel Ryabikin said.
For comparison, London Heathrow Airport, which is the busiest airport in Europe, serves about 200,000 passengers per day.
