Ukraine Demands Access to Captive Sailors
On Nov. 25, Russia captured 24 Ukrainian sailors at the Kerch Strait
Commissioner for Human Rights in Ukraine Lyudmyla Denisova is in Moscow demanding to see Ukrainian prisoners of war held by the Russian Federation.
The 24 captive Ukrainian sailors are undergoing “trial” at Moscow’s Lefortovo Court. On Nov. 25, Russian Special Forces seized three Ukrainian vessels and captured the sailors in the Black Sea at the Kerch Strait.
Denysova said she plans to meet with FSB director Alexander Bortnikov and Adviser to the President, Chairman of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Mikhail Fedotov.
“Once again, I will insist that I’m granted permission to visit our guys who have been in Russian captivity for almost five months,” she wrote.
