The Kyivsky District Court in Simferopol, in the occupied Crimea, extended the arrest of Ukrainian activist Oleh Prykhodko until Feb. 10.

A hearing on Prykhodko’s case was held on Friday (Dec. 6), the Crimean Solidarity initiative stated.

“As expected, the court extended the pre-trial restriction until February 10, 2020. During the court hearing, the defense filed a number of motions and all of them were rejected,” lawyer Nazim Sheikhambetov said.

The court’s decision was politically motivated, Sheikhambetov said.

On Oct. 10, the Kyivsky District Court in Simferopol arrested Prykhodko, charging him with plotting an explosion at the Saky town administration.

Prykhodko denies his guilt and said that his persecution, like many others, is based on his pro-Ukrainian stance.
