The Public Prosecution Service of the Netherlands declined to comment on the statement by Vladimir Tsemach that he had been offered citizenship and a home in the Netherlands in exchange for testimony in the MН17 case, the press secretary of the Service, Brecht van de Mosdijk, said to a Ukrinform correspondent in Hague.
It is true that Tsemach was interrogated by the International Joint Investigation Team (JIT), she said.
Tsemach is a person of interest to the JIT. The Public Prosecution Service of the Netherlands has sent a request for the provisional arrest of Tsemach by the relevant Russian authorities on September 7, 2019, for the purpose of extradition to the Netherlands, added van de Mosdijk.
In July 2014, Russian controlled forces shot down Malaysian Airlines flight 17 over eastern Ukraine killing all 298 onboard. Tsemach has claimed to be a witness to the shoot down. He was captured by Ukrainian forces but sent to Russia as part of a prisoner exchange.
