In the first match of the round of 16 of the Europa League tournament, Dynamo Kyiv lost to London team Chelsea 0:3, Ukrinform reported.
Chelsea had a great advantage and created numerous threats. At the 17 minute mark, Pedro scored the first goal for Chelsea.
After the break, Dynamo aligned the game. However, the ball again fell at Boyko’s gate. At the 65th minute, Shakhtar’s ex-player Willian scored a free kick. And at the 90th minute, Hudson-Odoi brought the score to 3:0 in favor of Chelsea.
After the match, the manager of Chelsea Maurizio Sarri commented on the first win in the Europa League group round.
“I think we played a very good match without conceding and we did very well in the first half. I didn’t like the 10 minutes after 2:0, as we lowered our intensity,” Sarri said.
“Surely, that a task to win three goals back is difficult, but we will fight to the end,” Head Coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Alyaksandr Khatskevich, said.
There were two more matches of the round. Valencia beat Krasnodar 2:1. And Napoli beat Salzburg 3:0.
The second leg of the Round of 16 of the Europa League will be played on March 14.
