On April 29 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading a draft law on creation of a single organization with the necessary resources to continue programs for providing Ukrainians with affordable housing. The document was supported by 277 people’s deputies, UATV correspondent reports.
Draft Law No. 5308 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021” provides that the State Mortgage Institution will join the “Ukrainian Financial Housing Company”. The latter was created in 2020 to implement the program” Affordable mortgage”.
The document proposes to increase the maximum amount of public debt by $715 000 000 and direct it to the introduction of financial and credit mechanisms for providing Ukrainian citizens with housing.
Legislators are sure that the implementation of this document will allow in a short period of time to provide Ukrainians with a profitable mortgage loan for up to 8,000 apartments, as well as for lease of another 12,000 apartments.
