The land market will allow Ukrainian agricultural sector to be a locomotive of economic development, – Shmyhal
The land market is the engine for communities and businesses.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during his speech at the all-Ukrainian forum “Ukraine 30. Land”, – the Government portal informs.
Shmyhal reminded that the Verkhovna Rada approved the bills №2194 and №2195, which were the last steps towards the launch of a full-fledged land market in Ukraine. Also during the forum, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed one of the laws.
The Prime Minister noted that not only landowners and agrarians, but also Ukrainian communities will become beneficiaries.
“According to the Ministry of Economy, 4 million hectares of land with an estimated value of about $20 billion have been passed to communities in recent years. This is an extraordinary step for regional development and decentralization reform, which we are implementing”, – said the Prime Minister.
According to Shmyhal, land reform is the restoration of historical justice, stimulating the development of agriculture, decentralization and increasing the role of communities in making important decisions.
“The opening of the land market will allow the Ukrainian agricultural sector to become a real locomotive of economic development”, – Shmyhal said.
To remind, in April 2020 Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the land market.
