The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities will limit electricity imports from Russia and Belarus until October 1, 2021.
The relevant draft resolution “On the allocation of capacity of interstate crossings” was approved by the regulator on May 26 at an open meeting, Ukrinform reports.
The chairman of National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities Valery Tarasyuk didn’t exclude that the National commission will continue a ban on import and after October 1.
“At the joint meetings, we decided that we should monitor the state of preparation for the autumn-winter period and the situation with the accumulation of coal with electricity producers. We will continue the ban. As of today, we are ready to do it by October 1, “he said.
The draft decree provides for the temporary limitation of the available bandwidth, is divided into daily and monthly auctions for 2021, in terms of interstate relations between Ukraine and states that are not members of the Energy Community (the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus). Along with this, it is envisaged to introduce mechanisms to control the accumulation of coal.
Besides, earlier it was announced that Ukraine will stop air communication with Belarus starting May 26.
