Elina Svitolina Ends Year as No. 4 in the World

Kateryna Kozlova just scrapes through the top 100

Ukrainian tennis player, Elina Svitolina, has ended the year as world No. 4, according to the Women’s Tennis Association’s updated rankings.

Lesia Tsurenko is at No. 27, while Dayana Yastremska moved up two spots to No. 58, which is her best personal record. Kateryna Kozlova scrapes through the top 100 again, remaining in 99th place.

Anhelina Kalinina is No. 111. The teenager Marta Kostyuk is at No. 118.

Kateryna Bondarenko dropped down one spot to No. 133, while Katarina Zavatska jumped 10 spots to No. 183.

The French Open champion Simona Halep, Wimbledon Open champion Angelique Kerber, Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki and the U.S. Open champion, Naomi Osaka round out the top five.

Svitolina was voted by fans as the best player for October, after she won the year-end championship in Singapore for the first time. She defeated the American Sloane Stephens 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the championship match.
