Lawyer for Crimean Political Prisoners Himself Detained
Emil Kurbedinov was driving home from work when he was detained
Today, a lawyer for Crimean political prisoners was himself detained.
The lawyer, Emil Kurbedinov, was detained by employees of the “Center for Countering Extremism.”
“The lawyer Emil Kurbedinov was arrested by members of the Center for Countering Extremism on suspicion of propaganda or public demonstration of Nazi attributes or symbols, or attributes or symbols of extremist organizations, or other attributes or symbols, the propaganda or public demonstration of which is prohibited according to federal laws,” journalist Anton Naumluk wrote on Facebook.
Kurbedinov was detained while driving to his office from his home. Information regarding his detention came from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Another lawyer, Edem Semedliaiev, is attempting to provide his colleague with legal aid.
