Fire at Odesa Psychiatric Hospital Kills Six
The fire began on the roof of the facility, the investigation is ongoing

A fire that broke out on the roof of a psychiatric hospital in Odesa late on June 10, 2019 has killed six people, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has reported.
“A fire broke out on the roof of a single-story building of the municipal non-profit enterprise Odesa Regional Medical Center for Mental Health of Odesa Regional Council on an area of 500 square meters at 9 Akademika Vorobyova Street in the Suvorovsky district of Odesa at 21:44 on June 10. The fire was extinguished at 23:19,” the report says.
State Emergency Service units rescued 15 people. Unfortunately, four of rescued succumbed to injuries sustained from the fire and smoke.. Six people with signs of carbon monoxide poisoning were hospitalized and two of them died at hospital.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi instructed Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman to immediately set up a state investigative commission.
The head of state wrote this on Twitter.
“The reasons will be established. My condolences to the loved ones of the victims,” Zelenskyi also wrote.
