FSB Raids Houses of Crimean Community Activists
Criminal proceedings are filed against Evelina Arifova and Elmira Abultarova
The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia searched the house of Evelina Arifova’s parents for more than two hours. Arifova is the Deputy Head of the Asker Community Organization in Simferopol. This was reported by Crimean Solidarity on Facebook.
“The FSB officers arrived in two cars of the GAZel brand, the UAZ Patriot and the Kia brand car. All cars, except one, bore no numbers. The search began at 6:00am and ended at 8:30am. After the search, the FSB officers handed Evelina’s parents a notice of summons for January 25,” according to the post.
The post also stated that a criminal proceeding has been filed against Arifova.
Later, a search in the house of activist Elmira Abultarova reportedly occurred. She is charged with having “membership in a banned organization.”
