The government will allocate ₴3 million, around $120,000, in compensation for families of the victims of the Odesa fire, as well as an additional ₴1 million, around $40,000, to emergency services for clean-up.

The funds will be assigned from the Reserve Fund of the State Budget of Ukraine.

“The funds (4 million hryvnias) will be assigned to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) and the Odesa Regional State Administration,” the Cabinet press service stated.

The Head of the Odesa regional state administration Maksym Kutsyi said on December 10, 2019 that the regional state administration has already submitted an order “to allocate almost three million hryvnias from the reserve fund of the budget for payment of one-time financial assistance,” Hromadske reported.

Kutsyi did not specify the exact amount or how the compensation would be disbursed, promising to respond later.
