OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger hopes that a meeting on July 12, 2019 of political advisers to the Heads of State and Government of the Normandy Four countries will restore the work of the Normandy format and provide political setting for the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk.
“We are all waiting for a Normandy format meeting on July 12, hoping this will lead to the restoration of the Normandy format as well as provide clear political setting for the Trilateral Contact Group, which, in my opinion, should receive greater room for maneuver,” Greminger said in a comment to a Ukrinform correspondent in Austria.
According to the OSCE Secretary General, this is necessary in order to use the platform to resolve many issues within the framework of the Minsk agreements implementation.
He pointed out that the “crisis in and around Ukraine” was among the main talking points at the OSCE informal ministerial gathering in Slovakia’s High Tatras on July 9, 2019.
