The International Tribunal for the Law of Sea will consider the case of the 24 Ukrainian sailors who were captured by the Russian Federation in November at the Kerch Strait.
The public hearings will start on May 10th.
The sailors’ lawyers built their defense on the Third Geneva Convention. According to it, the Ukrainians are prisoners of war and should not be held in jail.
