The Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration asked the Cabinet of Ministers to allocate approximately $6 million from the state budget for flood damages.

“The Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, after assessing the damage caused by the floods in May, sent a letter to the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to allocate about ₴160 million (about $6 million) from the state budget for the elimination of the consequences of the natural disaster. ₴100 (about $3.7 million) of these funds will be spent on the restoration of municipal property, and almost ₴62 million (about $2.3 million) on the restoration of damaged dams,” Volodymyr Stebnytsky, the head of the Civil Protection Department of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration told Ukrinform.

Heavy rains poured continuously in the Ivano-Frankivsk region throughout May resulting in dozens of households flooding, Stebnytsky said.
