Kichenok Twins Win WTA Elite Trophy
Lyudmyla and Nadiia Kichenok won the season-end tournament for the first time in their career

Ukrainian tennis players and twins, Lyudmila and Nadiia Kichenok, have won the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai, China, wtatennis reports.
Lyudmyla and Nadiia Kichenok won the season-end tournament for the first time in their career. It was also their first time playing in the tournament. It is their third title together.
The duo defeated Shuko Aoyama of Japan and Lidziya Marozava of Belarus with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
It was the Ukrainian sisters’ third win in a match tiebreak in as many matches this week.
“We won three super-tiebreaks, that’s a great percentage for us!” Nadiia Kichenok said. “I hope we can keep it going next year. It was a great tournament for us and we’re just extremely happy.”
The Ukrainian duo defeated the Chinese pair, Xinyu Jiang and Zhaoxuan Yang, with a score of 7-6 (11), 3-6, 11-9 to make it to the second round of the tournament’s group stage.
After that, they beat the Japanese pair, Miyu Kato and Makoto Ninomiya, with a score of 6-4, 1-6, 10-7, and made it to the finals.
