US sanctions will not halt construction of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 and Turk Stream pipelines.
“With regard to the US military budget, the Congress, in my opinion, is willing to do everything to destroy our relations. But we have got used to such attacks, we know how to respond to them, and I assure that neither Nord Stream 2, nor Turkish Stream will stop,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following his visit to Washington, DC, Ukrinform reports, citing TASS.
The US Congress approved a $738 billion military budget for 2020 which provides for imposition of sanctions over the Nord Stream 2 and Turk Stream pipelines. The concern is that Russia will have too much control over energy deliveries to Europe.
