The lawyer of Captain Denys Grytsenko, who led one of the Ukrainian naval vessels captured by Russia last week, is putting together a list of advocates for the rest of the sailors.
Today the lawyer, Mykola Polozov, is visiting Kyiv.
On Nov. 25, Russian border guard ships attacked and captured three Ukrainian ships that were passing through the Kerch strait on their way from Odessa to Mariupol. In total, 24 Ukrainian sailors were captured. Twenty-one of them remain detained in Russia’s Lefortovo Prison. Three others were wounded and are under medical care at the Matrosskaya Tyshyna detention center.
“Currently, while in Moscow, I am creating a list of lawyers,” Polozov had said earlier. “On Tuesday (today) I will reveal this list to the Ukrainian government in Kyiv. There it will be inspected by the interdepartmental group. After that, we will start a joint and coordinated work.”
