Lithuanian President to Visit Ukraine
On Friday, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko
Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite will visit Ukraine on Friday to sign of a number of bilateral documents and hold meetings with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
This will be the 11th meeting of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania.
Among the top topic will be the security situation in eastern Ukraine and the Sea of Azov as well as Lithuanian options for facilitating an international response to Russia’s open military actions in Azov.
“The two Presidents will focus on Ukraine-EU cooperation and the implementation of reforms necessary for Ukraine’s European integration: fighting corruption, reforming law enforcement institutions and making other important steps on the path towards euro-integration,” the Lithuanian Presidential website wrote.
Grybauskaite and Ukrainian Poroshenko will also participate in the 2nd Ukrainian Women’s Congress on Friday and Saturday. It’s an initiative aimed at promoting equal opportunities and the more active engagement of women in Ukrainian politics and business.
The NGO-charity foundation “Kryla Peremogi”, which provides medical assistance to soldiers at the front line, will present Dalia Grybauskaitė with an honorable civil society award “Beregynia Ukrainy” for her support of Ukraine.
