Lithuanian Presidential Election
Today is the second and final round of voting
The decisive second round of presidential elections is being held today in Lithuania.
Ex-Finance Minister Ingrid Simonite and Lithuanian politician and economist Gitanas Nauseda are running for election.
In the first round, on May 12, they were separated by a little less than a percent. Simonite, a candidate from the conservative party Union of the Fatherland – the Lithuanian Christian Democrats, won 31.31 percent of the vote.
Nauseda received 30.94 percent of the vote.
Polling stations in the country opened 7 a.m. local time and remain open until 8 p.m.
