Ukraine’s farmers will now have to meet EU requirements to trade their products with the EU. The new rules will also help consumers in both the EU and Ukraine know the quality of the food they buy. It will also help food processors in the same regard.
“As part of the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine has implemented the EU legislation on standards of trade in livestock and crop products,” the press service of the Ministry reports.
These new rules should facilitate a significant expansion of the export potential of domestic producers, not just to the EU but other countries that require such high standards.
