Ukraine Seeks Further EU Integration
There was a meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee in Brussels
With the fifth meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee now underway, Ukraine hopes to expand cooperation with the European Union.
Specifically, it’s looking for further sectoral integration into the EU’s digital and energy markets, to simplify customs formalities in trade with the EU, and to obtain an industrial free visa regime (ACAA).
“We have every reason to say that the intensity of the EU-Ukraine dialogue will only grow,” Deputy Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Dmytro Kuleba said.
The Ukrainian side of the meeting, which started today (Nov. 5) in Brussels, included ministers and deputy ministers, as well as representatives from ministries and other agencies responsible for fulfilling tasks related to European integration, the government portal stated.
The Association Committee is a subsidiary body of the Association Council, which organizes the meetings and discussions of the Association Council, ensures the continuity of the relations of the Association, and the proper implementation of the Agreement.
This year’s meeting of the Association Council, in December, is planned to summarize the achievements on the path towards EU accession.
