The press secretary of President of Ukraine, Iuliia Mendel, stated three issues Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to raise during the Normandy Four Summit in Paris on December 9, 2019.
“First three issues, President Zelensky will raise at the meeting in Paris are dates and conditions of release of captured Ukrainians; an actual ceasefire, instead of the fake one and, of course, the withdrawal of troops of another country and bandit groups from the territory of Donbas,” she wrote on Facebook.
Mendel said that the regional Donbas election may happen only when all foreign troops and illegal armed forces leave Donbas. Another condition is that the Ukrainian-Russian border has to be under Ukrainian control.
“We are in a difficult situation, but we take a very strong position in Paris. We have strong allies — Germany and France, we have support in the international arena, including from the United States and the United Kingdom. But our most important ally is the Ukrainian people, who don’t want war,” she wrote.
