Mine Accident in Lviv Region Leaves One Person Dead
No one else was injured in the accident and clean up operations are underway

A miner died due to a rockslide at a mine, at a depth of about 500 meters, Lviv city councilman Ihor Zinkevych reported on Facebook.
“A big collapse occurred at the mine Nadia at around 3 a.m. A 40-year-old resident of the city Chervonohrad, Yaroslav Lunych died,” Zinkevych wrote.
He did say that no one else was injured due to the collapse and that clean up operations are being conducted by rescuers on site.
Later, the press office of the Lviv Region Police Department reported that the police have initiated an investigation under the provision of article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for 5 to 8 years of imprisonment for violations of safety protocols during hazardous operations.
