Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna Poroshenko attended the unveiling of a monument in Pereiaslav-Khmelnitskiy dedicated to the soldiers who have been killed during the war with Russian backed militants in Donbas. This includes soldiers who were killed during the initial Anti-Terrorist Operation, ATO, as well as the soldiers killed in the current Joint Forces Operation, JFO.

Poroshenko wrote this on Facebook.

“We remember every hero who gave their life for Ukraine,” he wrote.

The sculpture is of Oleksandr Chebanenko, who was born in Pereiaslav. He was a member of the 30th Individual Mechanized Brigade.
