Nearly $337 Million to Ukrainian IT Startups

According to a new study, the number of investments also rose- from 85 in 2017, to 115 in 2018

Venture capitalists invested approximately $336.9 million in Ukrainian IT startups this past year.

That’s according to a new report by the Ukrainian Venture Capital Association – which found that the number of transactions increased from 85 to 115.

Almost a third of the total investment went to GitLab, founded by Kharkiv resident, Dmitry Zaporozhets. In September, it received a $ 100 million investment from Iconiq Capital.

The top 10 IT startup investments in 2018, according to UVCA:

Gitlab – $ 100 million

BitFury – $80 million

People.ai – $30 million

GitLab – $ 20 million

YayPay – $8.4 million

DreamTeam – $ 5 million

Restream – $4.5 million

Busfor – $4 million

Preply – $4 million

Spinbackup – $1.5 million
