New Explosions at Munitions Depot in Russia, 17 More Injured 

Between the two events at the munitions depot, 31 people have been injured

17 more people were injured as a result of new explosions at a munitions depot near the city of Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk region, Russia, DW reported, citing the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Healthcare.

According to the report, five of the injured were taken to the hospital.

The first explosions of ammunition at a munitions depot near Achinsk erupted on August 5, 2019. 14 people were injured in the initial explosion with six of them hospitalized. The total number of victims in this ongoing event has increased to 31 people.

Russian officials have said that a lightning strike during a demining operation at the depot caused the initial fire. No information was given on the cause of the second explosion.
