The government plans to create a state agency to promote tourism in Ukraine.

A budget of about ₴240 million (about $9.7 million) is proposed for next year’s budget to develop infrastructure, promote Ukrainian tourism abroad, and improve domestic tourism services.

“The government plans to create a central executive body that will oversee the hospitality industry and promote the Ukrainian tourism in the world. This will be a state agency,” Head of the Ukrainian Hospitality Industry Association Oleksandr Liyev wrote on Facebook. “This will definitely have a positive effect: an increase in the share of tourism GDP by several times, an increase in the profitability of travel-related companies, an increase in domestic and foreign tourist flow, etc.”

The Verkhovna Rada is now considering the draft budget for next year.
