Each of the peoples has its own way: Zelenskyy responded to Putin’s statement about “one people”
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainians and Russians are “definitely not one people”. He said this in an interview with “Interfax-Ukraine”, commenting on the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin, UA informs.
“We are definitely not one people. We have a lot in common. We have a common part of history, memory, neighborhood, relatives, a common victory over fascism and common tragedies. All this is important, and we remember this. And, perhaps, we will have something in common in the future, if it is not too late to stop the total division between our countries. But we are not one people. If we were one people, then hryvnia would have flown in Moscow, and a yellow-blue flag would be flying over the State Duma. So, we are definitely not one people. Each of us has his own way” – Zelenskyy summed up.
According to Zelenskyy, both countries should have one task – peace in Donbas.
“We should have one goal – end the war in Donbas, return its territories to Ukraine. And one more thing – it is impossible to simultaneously talk about “one people” and seize our territories and continue the massacre in Donbas” – the head of state noted.
