Presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko is ready to come to the debate at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium on April 19, if it does not coincide with the official time of the debate on public television channel (UA:PBC), Poroshenko’s election headquarters spokesman Oleh Medvedev said, Ukrinform reports.
“If this is gonna be a debate and this debate will be at a time that does not contradict the law, then it would be possible to attend them, but since they are intended at the time when Poroshenko lawfully has to be on the UA:PBC debates as a law-abiding citizen, Poroshenko will go to UA:PBC, but the law says that the public debate should take place on the 19th April, and none of the presidential candidates has the right to ignore the requirement of the law,” he said.
Today, Poroshenko arrives at Olimpiyskiy Stadium at 2 p.m. and awaits political opponent Volodymyr Zelensky.
The second round of the presidential elections will be held on April 21 where the two will face each other.
