Joe Biden stated support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity during his meeting with Vladimir Putin (VIDEO)
The first summit of the US and Russian presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin ended in Geneva. The meeting was over an hour earlier than expected. The parties discussed cyber security, situation in Ukraine and Belarus, and imprisonment of Alexei Navalny. UA reports this.
In particular, Joe Biden emphasized his support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“I expressed US irreversible support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”, – he said.
Joe Biden stressed that the US president has to protect democratic values and human rights.
“I clearly stated that we are going to raise the issue of human rights”, – Joe Biden noted.
According to the US president, the parties have started the bilateral dialogue for political stability.
“We have also spoke on cyber security. I named the certain infrastructure objects, which cannot be attacked. I handed over the list – those are 16 sectors. The agreements should be realized in practice”, – Biden said.
He noted that the general tone of his meeting with the president of Russia was positive.
Besides, Biden told Putin about the consequences Russia would face in case the opposition activist Alexei Navalny dies.
