MPs Medvedchuk & Kozak are suspected of treason, – media
A suspicion of high treason and attempt to embezzle national resources in Crimea is officially announced to two Ukrainian MPs. Prosecutor general Iryna Venediktova wrote this at her Facebook page, UATV informs.
“After studying the materials of the criminal case I came to the conclusion that it is important to take responsibility and inform those parliamentarians about the suspicion. I think that the investigation and the prosecutors have already got enough grounds to change their procedural status from witnesses to suspects”, – Venediktova noted.
According to Ukrainian media, it goes about MPs from the “Opposition Bloc “For Life” party Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak.
Meanwhile, no one knows where Medvedchuk is now, therefore the Security Service of Ukraine “takes measures to establish his whereabouts and present him with an application for pre-trial detention”.
On May 11 searches have been held in the house belonging to Viktor Medvedchuk.
The SSU’s press-service has confirmed this information to “Interfax-Ukraine”.
To remind, earlier the Supreme Court has rejected the cancellation of sanctions against the so-called “Medvedchuk’s TV channels”.
