U.S. Department of State Advisor will visit Kyiv and Warsaw
US State Department adviser Derek Scholle will visit Kyiv and Warsaw this week to discuss cooperation issues, in particular regarding the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
“Derek Scholle will continue our diplomatic negotiations with Ukraine and Poland on a number of issues, including our common concern about the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and energy security in general, as well as ongoing reforms” – the State Department noted.
The message says that the State Department adviser will be in Kyiv on July 20-21. During the visit, he will discuss with government officials support for Ukraine’s efforts to counter Russian aggression and the promotion of economic and anti-corruption reforms. In addition, Scholle will have the opportunity to discuss Ukraine’s economic development with members of the business community.
On July 21-23 in Warsaw, Derek Scholle will meet with senior officials, civil society and business representatives to discuss strategic bilateral and regional issues, as well as a shared commitment to democratic values and institutions.
