UIA Catastrophe, Crimean Platform: Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Justin Trudeau had a phone conversation
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The head of state told Justin Trudeau about the security situation in the east and along the borders of Ukraine. The President noted that only part of the Russian troops and heavy weapons have now been withdrawn from the temporarily occupied territories and from the Ukrainian borders.
The President also noted that the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project is Russia’s political weapon.
Justin Trudeau reaffirmed Canada’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and solidarity with our state in countering the long-term aggression of the Russian Federation.
“We remain great friends. We will continue to support Ukraine”, – the head of the Canadian government stressed.
Special attention was paid to strengthening the coordination of efforts between Ukraine and Canada in the case of Iran shooting down flight PS752 and bringing those responsible to justice.
The parties also touched upon plans for further political dialogue at the highest level. Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the invitation to Justin Trudeau to visit Ukraine to participate in the summit of the Crimean Platform in Kyiv and the events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
