President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with other countries’ leaders called on the world community to sign the International Treaty on the Pandemic.
This is reported by UATV with a link to the OP website.
The communiqué on the treaty says that such a document will allow humanity to prepare for the pandemic that may be in the future.
“This includes a significant increase in international collaboration to improve, for example, alert systems, data exchange, research of home, regional and global production and distribution of medical countermeasures and public health measures such as vaccines, drugs, diagnostics and personal protective equipment. It should also include the recognition of the One Health approach, which links human and animal health to our planet” – Zelenskyy.
Such an agreement should also lead to mutual accountability and shared responsibility, transparency and cooperation within the international system with its rules and regulations.
The signatories believe that the new international agreement should be based on the WHO statute.
The document was signed by about 20 world leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, European Council President Charles Michel and others.
The WHO predicted when the COVID-19 pandemic would end.
