Washington and Kyiv keep in touch because of the Russian threat – White House
The United States is concerned about the concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine. This was stated by White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, according to UATV.
Jen Psaki noted that the issue of increasing Russian aggression should be discussed at a meeting between State Secretary Antony Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, scheduled for the Secretary of State’s visit to Brussels from April 13 to 15. Blinken will arrive there on the day of the extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.
“First of all, we are concerned about the situation and are watching Russia’s growing aggression on the border with Ukraine. Secretary of State Blinken and Defense Minister Austin are meeting with NATO partners in Brussels this week. And we are confident that they will discuss this topic as well”, said the White House spokeswoman.
Because of the Russian threat, Washington and Kyiv maintain regular contacts, Psaki said.
“We also keep in touch with Ukrainian officials at various levels,” she said.
The US Secretary of State and NATO Secretary General have already discussed by telephone the accumulation of Russian troops on Ukraine’s borders.
