Polling Station in JFO Area Failed to Open
No reason has been given as to why the station did not open
One polling station at the Lebedynske settlement in the area of the Joint Forces Operation action has not opened, Chief of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Kniazev said during a press briefing.
“The National Police states that this morning only one polling station hasn’t been opened. The election commission just has not started working. This is the settlement Lebedynske, in the Donetsk region, right on the contact line,” Kniazev said.
According to him, 680 voters are registered at this polling station, who are now deprived of their voting right.
“We opened a criminal proceeding […], and, in the nearest future, the Donetsk Regional Police Department will report about the investigation and the prospects of making suspicion notice to those who would be considered guilty,” Kniazev said.
Today is the second round of the presidential election in Ukraine.
The election ballot includes two candidates – TV personality Volodymyr Zelensky and the current president Petro Poroshenko.
