President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko awarded the President of the European Council Donald Tusk with the high state award of the Order of Yaroslav the Wise citing Tusk for his “outstanding personal contribution into strengthening international unity and solidarity with Ukraine, supporting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union,” the Facebook page of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko informed.
“Thank you very much, Mr. President, for the deep understanding and reliable support of Ukraine and Ukrainians in our common way of returning to a single family of European peoples and defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Poroshenko wrote.
The Order of Yaroslav the Wise is the second highest Ukrainian state award.
