Sanctions against Russian will be continued, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said.
Poroshenko noted that during his meeting with President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, considerable attention had been paid to the issue of prolonging sanctions against the Russian Federation. He believes there is confidence in their continuation.
“Great attention was paid to extending sanctions. The situation and our work over the last month give us grounds for optimism,” Poroshenko said after the negotiations with Donald Tusk.
“Not even for cautious optimism, but for optimism that the sanctions against the Russian Federation due to the non-fulfillment of the Minsk agreements will definitely be continued at the June European Union Summit,” Poroshenko added.
