Balukh, Former Kremlin Prisoner, to File Lawsuit Against Russia
The lawsuit will be filed in connection with Russia's human rights violations against him
Released from Russian captivity, Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukh will file a lawsuit with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) against Russia.
He said that the package of documents for submission to the ECHR in his case has been undergoing preparation since 2016, Krym.Realii reported.
“There are already many documents submitted to the ECHR. But this process is ongoing. Nothing has been completed yet. There has been a conversation with the Helsinki Human Rights Group. We’re working with them on this. We filed our first documents before December 2016, about article 319 on which I was judged for before I was put behind bars,” Balukh said.
On Sep. 26, the Torzhotsky Interdistrict Court of the Tver region of the Russian Federation will consider his complaint pertaining to his unjust imprisonment.
