For the second year now, December 25th is a national holiday here in Ukraine. In Lviv, the Roman Catholic community is celebrating Christmas. And that means a Christmas tree, decorated with sweets, crystal ornaments, and flowers. A traditional Christmas Mass is taking place at the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. People are singing carols in Ukrainian, Polish and English.

“I feel very positive, I am very pleased to spend time in this festive atmosphere. My father is a Pole and this is our family tradition. It has become much more convenient that it is a day off, so you can devote it to your family, and celebrate together,” parishioner at the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Yaromyr Vyniarskyi said.
