Russia Could Face Second Olympics Ban
Russia is accused of manipulating drug test data
Russian athletes could face suspension from the 2020 Olympics which will take place in Tokyo.
This was reported by The Telegraph in an exclusive report.
Allegations have been lodged that Russia has tampered with the laboratory data gathered in Russia before forwarding the data along to the World Anti-Doping Agency, WADA.
WADA believes that Moscow has been manipulating the test results for the past 18 months.
“Over the next two months new evidence may be presented of forgery regarding doping tests, which could lead to the exclusion of Russian athletes being able to participate in the Olympics,” the article says.
This would be the second instance where Russian athletes have been banned from Olympic competition. They were previously banned from participating in the 2018 winter games held in Pyeongchang, South Korea during to widespread cheating at the 2014 Winter Olympics held in Sochi, Russia.
