Russian-backed militants violated the ceasefire eight times

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in shelling on Sunday (Sep. 8) when Russian-backed militants violated the ceasefire nine times at the Donbas frontline.

“The enemy fired at the positions of the units of the Joint Forces with the caliber of arms which are forbidden by the Minsk agreements. In addition, the enemy used infantry fighting vehicle weapons, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms,” Ukraine’s Joint Forces Operation stated.

On the east side of the frontline, Russian-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions eight times, including:

  • Near the village of Hranitne with small arms
  • Near the city of Krasnohorivka with an automatic grenade launcher
  • Near the settlement of Verkhnotoretske with 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, and large-caliber machine guns
  • Twice near Mykolaivka with large-caliber machine guns
  • Near the city of Avdiivka with an automatic grenade launcher, hand anti-tank grenade launchers, and large-caliber machine guns
  • Twice near Lebedynske with 120 mm mortars, hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, large machine guns, and small arms

On the north side of the frontline, Russian-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions one time near Krymske with infantry fighting vehicle weapons, handheld anti-tank grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.
