Russian Military Forge Documents to Hide Presence in Donbas
Russia offers passports to mercenaries so they can receive the same pay as regular Russian forces
Russian Armed Forces command forges documents of Russian soldiers to hide their presence in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
“The so-called ‘republican draft offices’ boosted the preparation of the relevant registration cover documents for all personnel of the Armed Forces of Russia, serving in the military units 1 (Donetsk) and 2 (Luhansk) of the Russian Armed Forces,” the report says.
In addition, the Russians are trying to grant Russian citizenship for foreign mercenaries until January 1, 2020. To persuade militants to get Russian passports, information is spread that they will be paid at the same level as the military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces.
