Ukrainian Sailors from Sunken Ship Discharged from Turkish Hospital
The sailors will return to Ukraine soon
The Ukrainian sailors rescued off the coast of Turkey in Samsun after their ship sank were discharged from the hospital, Ukrainian ambassador to Turkey, Andriy Sybiha, wrote on Twitter.
Sybiha said that they will return to Ukraine soon.
Samsun governor, Osman Kaymak, met with the sailors in the morning, and they expressed gratitude to him and to the Turkish side for the treatment and care given to them.
On Jan. 7, the Panama-flagged cargo ship, which departed from the Russian port in the Azov Sea, sent out a distress signal around 148 kilometers or 92 miles off the shores of the Turkish province Samsun. Four Ukrainian and two Azerbaijani crewmen did not survive.
