CEC Officially Announces Second Round in Presidential Election
Incumbent president Petro Poroshenko will face off against TV personality Volodymyr Zelensky
The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
“Proposed by the CEC on April 7, 2019, on the results of voting on the day of the next election of the President of Ukraine on March 31, 2019, to conduct a repeat voting of the President of Ukraine next election, appointing it for Sunday, April 21, 2019. Include in the election ballot Volodymyr Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko,” the head of the Central Election Commission Tetyana Slipachuk said.
The second round of Ukraine’s Presidential Elections will include Volodymyr Zelensky and incumbent president Petro Poroshenko.
According to the vote tallies, Zelensky received 30.24% while Poroshenko received 15.95%.
Also, the Central Election Commission announced the results of district election commissions protocols in each region of Ukraine.
On March 31, the first round of Ukraine’s Presidential elections was held.
